According to some observers, by the year 2020 applications for mobile devices will become as popular as present day web sites. By the end of the current year the number of mobile applications will reach 100,000 items and by the end of the next decade this number will become more than 10 mln.

It has become ‘fashionable’ to create applications for iPhones and iPads (such as, for example, poker for iPad) and a s a result the number of applications in the database of the App Store has exceeded 65,000.
